It was an adventure weekend full of hiking, camping, and lounging with some of the best company. 

Why is it that when you think about something "next year" it seems so far away, yet that "year" always seems to go by too fast and before you know it, its here? 

Speaking of memories of our wedding day, the theme of our anniversary celebration was to "re-live our day". We were married in the Salt Lake temple so after the Payson Temple we drove to SLC and walked around Temple Square. It was so fun being able to walk around the temple grounds and up and down the steps where we once took pictures. We saw other brides and grooms coming out of the same doors we did... and we remembered how awkward we felt as we came running out and I almost tripped... haha 

We swam in the "relaxation" pool. (and every 5 seconds said "are you relaxed? I think I'm relaxing..)

Sat by our cozy fireplace. 

soaked in our private hot tub in our room. 

exchanged gifts. (I stuck with the paper theme and gave him a wedding album of all the pictures from our day. My gift from him was my new road bike I got a few weeks ago...)

And laughed until we cried while we wore the hotel robes. Does anyone ever feel comfortable wearing a hotel robe? haha 

It was so fun to re-live our wedding day. The only sad part was when we checked out of the hotel and this time we weren't going to Hawaii for a honeymoon... we considered it long and hard for about 5 minutes though.

We left the top of our tent open to star gaze and fell asleep snuggled in our sleeping bags together. oh me oh my so romantic ;) 

We woke up and had plans to do the 6 mile hike to Lower Calf Creek Falls. My new favorite place on earth. I did not want to leave. A 3 mile hike into the falls on a trail made of pure soft sand in sopping wet shoes, no water, and a baking sun could have been a recipe for disaster, but I think Carson wanted to kick me for how many times I kept saying "THIS IS AWESOME!" (I promise he actually loves me. i think.) along the way. The most beautiful hike we have done in a long time.

^^ The Bellagio fountains are always a favorite. I think we watched it 10 different times by the end of the weekend. 

I had all the plans in the world to be the BEST wife ever and make my honey a delicious valentines breakfast. We had a massive kitchen in our room and I was prepared. I bought/premade everything to make delicious crepes. BUT the excitement to get there took over before we left aaaaand I left it ALL at home... so we had yummy yogurt bowls instead!

 The rest of our night was spent eating at the Cheesecake Factory at Caesar's Palace. 

Caught a show at the V theater: The Variety Show. We laughed until we cried. so recommended.

getting cheesecake to go and spent the rest of the night spending our first Valentines together as a married couple. candles and martinellis galore obviously.

It was the best little getaway I have ever had. THE best hotel. THE best weather. THE best holiday. and THE best company. 

I look forward to so many more Valentines with my favorite human.
