My favorite treat at Christmas time are the candied nuts you find in the mall. They are not only DELICIOUS and smell so heavenly, but they are SO easy to make at home. (What? save a crowded trip to the mall. I'm in.)
You will need:
3 cups almonds (or any nut of choice, pecans are great too)
1 cup sugar
1 TBSP cinnamon
1/4 cup water
1. Over medium heat, combine water, cinnamon, and sugar in a large pan.
2. Stir until all ingredients are mixed. (I use a wooden spoon)
3. Once mixed, add nuts and stir CONSTANTLY until sugar crystalizes. About 10 minutes.
4. Remove from heat and poor mixture onto parchment paper.
5. Cool, and enjoy!
