Thanksgiving in the Northwest

This Thanksgiving break came and went, but going on a road trip was much needed and lots of memories were made.

On Wednesday Carson, me and Carson's younger brother Jansen drove up to Oregon to spend Thanksgiving with my grandparents. The roads were AWFUL due to the blizzard that ripped through Idaho and Utah. The roads were covered in snow and ice, and what should have been a 5 1/2 hour drive turned into an 8 hour drive.... (yuckk) I was white knuckle clinching the door handle the whole time and not going to lie had a bit of a panic attack when I saw the cars that had flipped on the side of the road. WE WERE NUTSSS!!

^^56 years of marriage vs. 1 1/2 years

Visiting my grandparents in Nyssa, Oregon is always a treat.  Imagine the smallest country town with 1 stop light and you have Nyssa. They are the cutest most loving people you will meet. It always brings back so many memories from when I was little running around these country roads. I love Nyssa and all that comes with it.

We spent Thanksgiving with my Grandma's sister and her family in Vale. It was theeeee most hilarious/random Thanksgiving I think I have ever had.

There is never a dull moment when you are with them.
And after the eating haul was over uncle Jim took the boys "hunting"... redneck thanksgiving?

And they came home with this.... His first kill ever. haha Only in Vale, Oregon can you just pick up a shotgun and shoot stuff on your own property....

And then as if they didn't eat enough all day...

These two cooked it and ate it. (uncle Jim the mentor monitoring...^^) haha They were in HEAVEN. the whole rest of the trip they kept saying let's go back and shoot more stuff! ohhhh geezz...

Once the party was all over and the duck had been eaten it was time....

CHRISTMAS TIME!!

My grandpa always has the best/cutest christmas lights.
We spent the night relaxing and watching football. The perfect Thanksgiving.

Friday morning we skipped the black friday shopping and took another 7 hour drive to SEATTLE!
Carson's older brother lives there with his kids so with so many days off from work and school we thought it was the perfect time to go. It did not disappoint. Christmas time in Seattle is just magical.

^^ We went to Snowflake Lane and saw the amazing Christmas show they put on EVERY NIGHT until christmas. Drummers and dancing in the street in all it's glory! They even make it SNOW!! so magical.

^^ went to snoqualmie falls and visited the train station in town for cookies and hot cocoa.

^^ ate fish and chips at Ivar's on the dock. A Seattle MUST.

^^ Spent the afternoon at Pike's Place. It was as amazing as I thought it would.

^^ Put our gum on the very NAKED gum wall...

^^ Took the Ferry to Bainbridge Island at sunset. It was such a cute little place and reminded us of being in Alaska again.... nothing beats sitting on the beach watching the boats float by... I should have grown up in Alaska.... maybe we will go back eventually ;)

This post is unorganized and random but that's about how our trip went. Overall, it was a good trip to get away and visit family. The 12 hour drive home was another story...
Christmas is in full swing though now that it is December!!! lots of exciting activities and events coming up!! even a Brockbank Wedding!
